Karl Vincent Roth is a producer, musician, composer, and writer based in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a carpenter, plant daddy, and proud owner of a rambunctious husky named Beatrice. Karl grew up in Chicago after spending time in Hong Kong and Germany as a young child. He has been surrounded by art his whole life: his mother is a constantly evolving painter, his older sister is an advertising professional and born athlete, and his younger sister is a bestselling author. Watching his mom experiment with color and technique has always inspired him to try new things—mixing instruments and genres as one would paint.
While Karl has been around music his whole life, his career as a producer is, in some ways, just getting started. Karl spent nearly a decade working as a DJ in Chicago before relocating to Montana to join the band Satsang. Karl spent almost 10 years touring the United States playing bass and singing backup vocals for the band before deciding to leave tour life to folllow his true dreams of working as a producer/audio engineer. Throughout all of this, Karl also managed to maintain his practice of songwriting and released his first EP “Wits’ End” in 2019 and his follow-up full-length album “Helium” in 2024. His range, vocal arrangements, and poetic lyrics are a potent combination.
Karl is available for production, mixing, mastering, arranging, and session work on vocals, bass, guitar and lap steel. He is also available for songwriting and production lessons. Get in touch for rates and samples.
